Whitewater OS · Redesign (WW-043)
Visual direction — three candidates
The WW-044 audit found the app is undesigned, not broken. Each candidate below is engineered to fix the six root causes; pick one to seed the token system (WW-048) and every redesigned surface. Review the per-candidate cards (palette · type · components · tasks · dashboard · mobile · shell), both modes.
The six root causes every candidate must solve
  1. Token system — real type / spacing / elevation / radius / motion scales — not color-only.
  2. Components — every primitive has variants & states (not just Button).
  3. Elevation — surfaces have depth — shadow tokens, not flat borders.
  4. Type scale — display→caption hierarchy; headings outrank their content.
  5. Feedback — optimistic UI + motion (shown as each candidate's motion intent).
  6. Consistency — one system, applied everywhere.
Candidates
A · Tidewater
refined navy + teal
Evolve the brand you own: navy + teal + Inter, finally with depth, hierarchy & air.
Motion: Calm & quick — 150ms ease-out; optimistic moves settle, never snap.
B · Signal
bold accent + grotesk display
Confident & distinctive: a Space Grotesk display, big type contrast, a vivid teal on ink.
Motion: Snappy with character — 120ms; a confident spring on primary actions.
C · Atlas
calm premium rebrand
A clean slate: warm neutrals, one confident indigo, Manrope, generous air. Off teal entirely.
Motion: Gentle & premium — 200ms ease; soft fades, nothing abrupt.
A = evolve the current brand · B = bolder & distinctive · C = clean-slate rebrand. Each is WCAG-AA-respecting by design so WW-048 can lock it.
